Artemis, Arise! Workshop

Artemis is best known as the Greek goddess of the wilderness and the moon. Though she's sometimes referred to as a virgin deity, many interpret this to mean that she is self-belonging - a being who represents feminine freedom and boundless agency. She is a guardian of girls and adolescents, a steward of wild spaces, and a skilled huntress who shoots her arrows with precision and intention. In her lunar guise as Apollo's sister (and her Roman incarnation Diana) she's a source of light in darkness who can help us connect to our intuition and the great mysteries. As we consider this collective moment we're currently in - where bodily autonomy is under threat and Mother Nature is being pillaged and plundered - Artemis can help fortify our protective powers so we might better take care of ourselves, our wildlife, and each other.

In this richly illustrated online presentation, world-renowned witchcraft expert Pam Grossman will explore the ways one can work with Artemis to set impactful intentions, strengthen one's sense of self-empowerment, and protect vulnerable beings of all species. Incorporating art, ritual, poetry, and myth, Pam will delve deeply into Artemis's various magical aspects, symbols, and mystic gifts. Students of all levels are welcome, from the curious novice to the advanced occultist, as all will benefit from forging a stronger connection with Artemis's arrow-sharp direction, unapologetic independence, and moonlit magic.

Please bring to class:

• A candle and something to light it with
• Paper and something to write with
• An arrow (can be an object or an image of an arrow)
• Any round sweet with a few unlit birthday candles in it (e.g. a cookie, small cake, cupcake) Please note this will be an offering for Artemis, so bring two if you want to eat one yourself ;-)
• If you have a tarot deck, you are welcome to bring the Moon and/or Ace of Swords cards - or any others you feel called to

* This class is intended for adults, and so adult language and imagery will be used!

* This class has suggested sliding scale pricing $40-$90 though you are welcome to pay more if you are able. If you are unsure of how much to pay, please see this handy graphic as a guide.

* Please also note: this class was recorded live over Zoom with workshop participants. 99% of the class is Pam speaking, giving a visual presentation, and leading a few magical exercises, but there is a tiny bit of participation from student volunteers, including a brief Q&A at the end.
