Hecate, the Greek goddess of witchcraft, is often thought to be a deity of darkness, but one of her many names is "Hekate Phosphoros" or Hecate, Light-bearer / Light-bringer. Using the magic of her torch, Hecate is able to traverse safely in and out of the underworld, and she teaches us how to navigate darkness with steadfast fortitude and hope. She is a splendid companion for shadow-work both on the personal and collective scale. While she can always be called upon as a source of strength, Hecate is a particularly excellent guide for those of us who are standing at a crossroads, or are experiencing times of tumult, fear, and/or grief.

In this richly illustrated online workshop, world-renowned witchcraft expert Pam Grossman will explore the ways one can work with Hecate to strengthen inner power, keep aglow in dark times, and protect oneself and each other. Incorporating art, ritual, poetry, and myth, Pam will delve deeply into Hecate's various magical aspects, symbols, and mystic gifts.

This workshop is open to all, from the curious newbie to the esoteric devotee. Students of all genders, sexual orientations, and lived experiences are welcome! HOWEVER, PLEASE NOTE: This class is intended for adults, and so adult language and imagery will be used!

Please bring to class:

  • A candle and something to light it with
  • Paper and something to write with
  • A spare key of any kind
  • Garlic
  • If you have a tarot deck, you are welcome to bring the Moon, the Hermit, the Queen of Wands, and/or the Queen of Swords cards - or any others you feel called to

Please note, this class has suggested sliding scale pricing $40-$90 though you are welcome to pay more if you are able. If you are unsure of how much to pay, please see this handy graphic as a guide.

Please also note: this class was recorded live over Zoom with workshop participants. 99% of the class is Pam speaking, giving a visual presentation, and leading a few magical exercises, but there is a tiny bit of participation from student volunteers, including a brief Q&A at the end.
